- Who We Are
- Our Work
- What We Do
It is with mixed emotions and sincere gratitude for his service that we are announcing the retirement of Charles “Chuck” Smith, AIA, LEED AP, at the end of May.
Upon graduation from K State, Chuck began his career with HTK and has served the profession tirelessly for 29 years, 20 of those as a shareholder. Chuck has been instrumental in shaping the continued success of HTK. As VP of Design, Chuck has demonstrated a commitment to the client and the design process. A sampling of some key HTK projects and breadth of his work include: Seaman Middle School, Auburn Washburn High School Expansion & Renovations, Shawnee Heights High School Auditorium, Downtown Topeka Plaza, Sports Car Club of America Headquarters, FHSU Endowment Center, Residence Halls at WU, PSU, KU and ESU, KSU & PSU Student Rec. Centers, Kansas Expocentre Expansion, Olathe Technical Support Center, Farley Elementary School, and HTK Architects Topeka Office. Chuck has great appreciation for the opportunities to collaborate and develop outstanding relationships across the Architectural Design Community.
Chuck and his wife Denise are looking forward to spending more time together, with family, traveling and “the undiscovered”. Although we will no longer see him in the office, we know he cares deeply about HTK and our clients. His building designs will stand the test of time and provide enjoyment for many generations.
On behalf of HTK Architects, I want to express my extreme gratitude to Chuck & Denise for everything they have done to support our team. The HTK Team wishes them well in their next phase of life. We invite you to join us on the evening of May 30th for a fun and joyous open house.
