Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas chose HTK as a design partner for multiple phases of upcoming projects. The initial project involved renovating their dining room and meeting spaces, which had not seen updates in two decades. HTK collaborated with BCBSKS from the early stages, establishing goals and seamlessly incorporating them into the final design.

The primary objective for the space was to be versatile, accommodating cafe seating, open collaboration areas, brain breaks, small meeting rooms, and large meeting spaces. HTK successfully achieved this by maintaining an open layout and creating nodes of activity with flexible seating options. BCBSKS aimed for an inviting and engaging space, encouraging people to linger for lunch or meetings rather than returning to their offices.

HTK proposed a diverse mix of seating elements that defined unique areas within the expansive open space. A standout feature is the fireplace, strategically placed to draw people through the entire space. Equipped with nearby technology, the fireplace area serves as a captivating setting for meetings.
