The Ft. Leavenworth Transient Barracks provides 540 beds for unaccompanied enlisted soldiers who are conducting training at a location other than their assigned home station. 1,500 soldiers each year train at the ARNG Mission Training Center (MTC) at the Division Warfighter Exercises. The MTC also conducts quarterly Brigade Training Seminars and JANOS conferences. There are approximately 12,500 annual users with about 121,329 training days at the MTC and 35th ID facilities. This facility is designed to partially meet the lodging requirements of National Guard Soldiers. The MTC has no other lodging facilities, so this project helps fill a large need for the guard.
Facility is designed to be a minimum of 50 years in accordance with UFC 1-200-02, including energy efficiencies, building envelope and integrated building systems technology and performance.
