The Reader’s Lounge and Wayfinding Signage project at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library focused on enhancing accessibility and navigation within the Adult Collections wings. The renovation aimed to create a more welcoming and user-friendly environment while improving wayfinding throughout the library.

In the Reader’s Lounge, the layout and collections display were reorganized to encourage browsing and engagement. New touch-down points and cozy seating areas were introduced, providing comfortable spaces for reading and discussion.

The Wayfinding Signage component included a full replacement of all ADA signage and the strategic addition of clear, methodical wayfinding throughout the building. To ensure inclusivity, bilingual signage was incorporated in all areas, improving accessibility for a diverse community of visitors.
