The Union School District needed a new elementary school to replace an aging school. The new school features 3 wings of classrooms converging on the core creative spaces. The central core has the Media Center, Art Room, Maker Space, and several smaller office/classroom spaces for collaboration. The entry area is utilized as the cafeteria & performance space maximizing square footage elsewhere in the school and providing a multi-functioning space. This space also separates the classrooms spaces from the rest of the school providing an extra layer of security. The gymnasium is an ICC 500 compliant storm shelter.
