North Kansas City Schools Bond Issue Projects

As a result of a successful Bond Issue campaign, many facility needs have been addressed throughout the school district.

Among the most visible, new stadiums were designed at Oak Park High School and Winnetonka High School to provide equitable competition and spectator experiences. These include grandstands, press boxes, entry pavilions, concessions and restrooms. Features are coordinated with existing complicated grading and site constraints.

A student entrance and athletic support addition was added at Oak Park HS. It contains secure entry, vertical circulation, fitness center and varsity locker spaces.

Other high school renovations include media centers, gyms, restrooms and locker rooms. Gymnasium additions that provide storm shelter protection are underway at two schools. Dozens of deferred maintenance items are also being completed in a multi-year phased plan at over 20 building sites.
