As part of the 2018 bond issue, HTK completed athletics projects at both De Soto High School and Mill Valley High School. At De Soto High School, a new field house was constructed on the former visitor’s side of the football stadium to create a new home-side bleacher expansion. The building includes new storage, locker, office, and training facilities on the lower level. The mid-level includes concessions and restroom facilities at the concourse level to the stands. The upper level is a two-sided press box to support both football and soccer. The press box is constructed out of shipping containers and was a substantial savings over standard construction. The project includes completely new turfed facilities for soccer, baseball, and softball as well as new field events.
