The new elementary school utilizes the existing footprint of the previous middle school to minimize the site disturbance and impact to the large amount of green space that the site features.
The building has numerous windows to maximize daylight and views. The most prominent being the clerestory in the great hall that has glazing on all four sides and provides an open air experience while in the middle of the school.
West Park is a long horizontal building that features a number of elements that help break up the façade and also enhances it’s visual aesthetic with vertical elements that highlight it’s program on the interior.
The building design highlights it’s individual spaces as they are part of the overall design and composition of the building.
