Pauline Central Primary School was chosen to be the first elementary school to receive much-needed improvements funded by the April 2022 Bond. HTK Architects is proud to partner with the school district to deliver a state-of-the-art design that prioritizes student safety, learning, and well-being.
Key features of the project include:
Early Childhood Expansion: Six new early childhood education classrooms were added to the east side of the building, creating a modern façade and enhancing the school’s overall look. This addition also included an upgraded main entrance with a spacious, welcoming vestibule, designed to accommodate students during parent pick-up.
Improved Traffic Flow: A new bus loop on the north side of the campus streamlined traffic patterns, ensuring a safer and more efficient pick-up and drop-off experience for families.
Family and Community Resources: A new Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Early Childhood Collaboration space serves as a hub for families, offering access to essential resources such as clothing, computer access, and food. This community room underscores the school’s commitment to fostering strong connections with students and their families.
Social-Emotional Learning Suite: A dedicated Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Suite brings the school’s support team together in one central location, ensuring students receive the personalized attention and care they need to thrive.
Enhanced Circulation and Playground Security: The design introduces a new link between the east and west wings of the school, improved circulation and protects the SEL and Pre-K playground from potential vandalism.
Building-Wide Renovations: Nearly every part of the school was upgraded to meet modern safety and wellness standards, reflecting the district’s dedication to providing a secure and nurturing environment for students.
This project has been shaped by the unwavering commitment of Pauline Central’s staff, who made thoughtful decisions to maximize the project’s impact while staying within budget. Their dedication to their students and the community shines through every element of this design.
